Our Ethos

We are career Tailors. We prefer to start our workday by turning on a sewing machine instead of a computer. We are continually learning and upskilling and are passionate about our work. We want to work with clients who appreciate quality and the time required to provide it.

We seek clients not customers

Sure, everyone needs basic tailoring. But we don't want to be available to everyone. We want to look after a handful of clients in a private manner with a detailed approach to their wardrobe.

We want to be available to a select number of people; not subject to walk-ins and disrupted schedules by opening a public shop. We want to develop lasting relationships with clients who seek tailoring along their career path and for life's events. It is wonderful to be referred to as "My Tailor".

We are Tailors not Marketers.

1. We will not ask you for a Google Review.  - If you're happy, then we know you'll tell a friend.

2. We won't send email marketing. You hate receiving them and we hate doing it. Actually, we'd rather converse by text or phone because we have tailoring to do and won't check our emails more than twice per day.

3. We might have an Instagram to showcase our work, but when we say "private tailoring", we mean it. Privacy for us. Privacy for you.

Let's work to a schedule.

Quality work requires planning.

After your initial consultation, you will be sent an email with meeting notes. This will confirm expectations, and agree on timelines, fittings etc.

Dry Cleaning

Dry cleaning is an additional service to tailoring and not a 'stand alone' service. We make 10% of dry cleaning as agreed with the dry cleaner

We work with an excellent Dry Cleaner who has a proven record of good work and good communication regarding risk management and outcomes. Items taken for dry cleaning will be checked by the tailor when collecting from the dry cleaner. If your tailor is unhappy, they will ask the dry cleaner for a 're-do' at the cleaner's expense. If the cleaner communicates that the clean is "as good as it's going to get", then the cleaning must be paid for by you, the client. After all, you dirtied it.

You are responsible for stains or damage than cannot be removed and you must pay for the work done on the items regardless of the outcome.

Re-do's : - incorrect or unfinished work.

We don't do 're-dos'. We will pin it correctly the first time and take notes on your size.

If you lose or gain weight between the first appointment and the follow-up appointment, any changes must be paid for as 'new jobs'.

If you change your mind about the fit or what you want(ed) done, this is a new job and must be paid for again.

In the unlikely event that you find the work of an items to be incomplete, the tailor will collect the garment and have it finished for no extra charge. The tailor will return or mail the garment according to a verbal agreement.
